Dollar Homes is the only shelter in the tri-city area of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Cyberabad that houses an astounding 190 plus dogs who have been abandoned, rescued from accidents, disabled or are otherwise unwanted. A registered non-profit society, Dollar Homes was set up by Mrs. I Vijaya Lakshmi, after the passing of her beloved dog – Dollar.

At Dollar Homes each one of the nearly 200 dogs is known by its name and cared for by a loving team of 8 carers. The environment is as close to one at home and even with scarce resources, the dogs have never wanted for anything. Mrs. I Vijaya Lakshmi and her amazing team treat every single dog with unconditional care, feeding them, grooming them and playing with them as if they were family. You only need to visit to feel the love! In Mrs Vijaya Lakshmi own words, “I see Dollar in each and every one of them.”

Outcome

Amara took up 100% responsibility of funding the renovations of converting a cow shed into a beautiful shelter for dogs. The shelter is not only safe but is also spacious and allows the dogs to run and play freely.
